Hello,
I wanted to share my experience with my first video interview. I found it to be an interesting experience overall. It was definitely different from a regular interview in the way where you cannot have a conversation with the person and that it’s a solo experience. Before I begin to say more about it here is a little context to what happened.
I was interviewed by Kraft Heinz for the position of Associate Brand Manager. The process of the interview was interesting, to say the least especially since for myself was a new experience but a great experience overall.
The interview process was each page had a question and then when you put record video, they would give you the question you needed to answer and then 30 seconds, to organize your thoughts. After the 30 seconds the video would start automatically, and you would have anywhere from 2-3 minutes to answer the question.
One thing to note is that before the first question there was a practice question which you could use to see how the process would be and you could have up to 3 attempts to do the practice question and you could see your video after the practice attempt.
However, when the “interview” started you only had 1 attempt per question, and you could not see your video after it is done. It was a good experience and while it is very different from a regular interview in that you cannot see the other person or have a conversation it is still a good thing to experience and learn from it.
I can now say that regardless of what happens going forward this new experience will help me grow as a person, professionally and help my personal brand grow due to having had the opportunity to experience this.
Also given the COVID 19 crisis happening all over the world right now this may mean I may or may not have more interviews like this and then for my next one I will know what to expect.
Thank you so much, Kraft Heinz, for this amazing experience and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you in the near future but regardless of what happens you gave me something new to experience and learn from.
